No. 9 – Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
Investing in infrastructure for sustainable development
A well-functioning and sustainable infrastructure generates several positive effects and promotes economic growth and development. Over half of the world's population lives in urban areas. By 2050, the percentage is expected to have risen to 70 percent. Policies that increase productive capacity, productivity and productive employment, that promote sustainable industrial development, universal access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy services and sustainable transport systems, and that provide high-quality resilient infrastructure are increasingly important in an urbanizing world.
Investing in infrastructure and adapting industries to make them sustainable, with more efficient use of resources and more clean and environmentally friendly technologies and industrial processes are all important ways to facilitate sustainable development at local, regional, national and international levels.

That we can be a safe and long-term supplier, who delivers innovative, sustainable, resource-efficient, and production-efficient solutions to these industries is therefore important.
We encourage innovation for sustainability. We use our expertise, competence, modern machinery and technology to drive the development of products and services that increase efficiency and create sustainable values. We use our resources in a way that increases efficiency and reduces unnecessary costs.
Resource-efficient use of metal materials
Modul is a partner who, together with our customers, is innovative, drives joint product development, competent and has a high degree of automation, so that the products are as optimized as possible in terms of manufacturing, materials and resources.
Metal, especially steel, is the most recycled material in the world today. As a contract manufacturer of sheet metal products, we are resourceful of the metal material we use and go full-circle where leftover material is sent back for recycling to make new metal.
Modul views the green transition in society and the industry positively. To reduce the use of fossil fuel, increase the use of renewable energy with water, solar and wind power and increase electrification in society.
Modul is positive about being able to market and use fossil-free steel in the coming years (read more about that in the sustainability goal no. 13).
